Solar Thermal(ST)
The heating of water, either directly or indirectly, by the sun. ST systems come in a larger variety of types and styles then their PV cousins. There are Passive and Active systems; Active systems have a pump to circulate fluids, and Passive systems have no pump. There are different types of panels that we call collectors and we can use them in many ways to attain the desired purpose. ST systems can be used; to heat your domestic hot water, (faucets, shower, laundry), to heat or help heat your building, or heat your pool water.
If you've always wanted to be "solar", but when you saw the price of an electric solar system, resigned yourself to higher electric bills. We may have the solution for you. We may be able to design and install a Solar Thermal system for far less money and you will still be eligible for large incentives. And with a very short return on investment period this may be a great place to start. ST systems pay for themselves in as little as three years but usually in five to seven years.* With the money you save you could always upgrade at a later time.
Domestic hot water systems; use fewer collectors, (requiring less roof space), use state of the art water heaters, (with electric back-up), that are super efficient, they can be designed to support forced air heat systems, or used in radiant floor heating.
